ZTE Blade X3 is the most affordable of all three new midrange Blade smartphones recently launched by its Chinese manufacturer – the other devices are the Blade X9 and Blade X5. Design and Display
For the price, the ZTE Blade X3 looks decently appealing, partly helped by its slightly-rounded edges. This, however, is not exactly thin or lightweight at 8.9 millimetres and 160.9 grams respectively.
It sports similar display as the ZTE Blade X5 – a 5-inch unit with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. The device promises decently enjoyable wide-angle viewing given the use of an IPS panel.
Camera and Storage
The ZTE Blade X3 offers an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and LED flash for impressive shots in dimly-lit environment. The shooter supposedly can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
You will also find a 5-megapixel snapper that looks ready to serve up some great selfies on the front. For keeping your photos and other files, you get onboard storage with a capacity of 8 GB. The phone can take up to 32GB microSD card for storage expansion.
Performance and Operating System
With a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor clocked at 1.0 GHz under the hood, the ZTE Blade X3 doesn’t appear to promise much by the way of performance.
The meagre 1 GB of RAM somewhat confirms that this is a device that will appeal most to entry-level users. In terms of the operating system, the smartphone boots Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
Other Features
A major highlight of the Blade X3 is its 4,000mAh Li-Ion battery. This juicer puts the phone in the same category as the likes of the Gionee Marathon M5 Mini and Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus. You virtually need not be carrying a power bank or charger around with this one.
