Design and Display
The design is essentially the same as the rest of the S21 series which was also carried over to the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. Only the Galaxy S22 Ultra with a Note-like design is different.
You have an the same all screen front with an O-cutout for the selfie camera. The back has the three rear cameras vertically lined-up on the bump on top left.
The smartphone is available in White, Graphite, Lavender, Olive colours with an aluminium frame and polycarbonate back. The front is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G features a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR10+, Always on display, up to 700 nits brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate (non-adaptive). This display is however smaller than the 6.5-inch display offered by the Galaxy S20 FE.
There is a fingerprint sensor embedded under the display. This will enable you unlock the phone when it is locked. The display is brilliant for watching movies and browsing the web.
The Cameras
Camera is one of the places the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G had some tradeoffs. The 64 megapixels telephoto sensor was downgraded to 8 megapixels with 3X optical zoom. The other two cameras, a 12 megapixels wide-angle main camera and a 12 megapixels ultrawide angle camera are largely the same as in the S21.
Photography is great on the smartphone, but we expect the rest of the S21 series to have an edge when it comes to taking photos and recording videos.
In the video department, you can record 4k videos at up to 60 fps, Full HD videos at up to 240 fps, and HD videos at up to 960 fps.
The Galaxy S21 FE 5G sports a 32 megapixels front facing camera. The camera can record 4k videos at up to 60 frames per second (fps).
Hardware and Software
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G is powered by the same processor as the rest of the S21 family. However, like is customary with Galaxy S Series, the processor you get depends on your country.
US versions are powered by Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5G, while in the rest of the world the android phone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 2100 chipset. Both are built on 5 nm technology and should offer similar performance.
While the Qualcomm SM8350 Snapdragon 888 5G offers an octa-core processor with a single-core Kyro 680 clocked at 2.84GHz, a triple-core Kyro 680 clocked at 2.42GHz, and a quad-core Kyro 680 clocked at 1.8GHz, the Samsung Exynos 2200 offers a single-core Cortex-X1 clocked at 2.9GHz, a triple-core Cortex-A78 clocked at 2.8GHz, and a quad-core Cortex-A55 clocked at up to 2.2GHz.
The 5G phone offers option of 6GB or 8GB RAM. You also have an option of 128GB or 256GB built-in storage. Like other members of the S21 series, you do not get a memory card slot on the device. A 4500 mAh battery is provided.
