Infinix GT 10 Pro

Design

For a first timer, the Infinix GT 10 Pro sure looks the part. The Infinix GT 10 Pro boasts a unique design concept called “Cyber-Mecha,” inspired by cyberpunk sci-fi aesthetics. This design approach is characterized by a see-through plastic with a glossy finish on the sides. This creates a captivating 3D effect, with design elements appearing to be situated beneath the surface.

Furthermore, the phone offers a comfortable grip, with flat sides, slim profile measuring 162.7 x 75.9 x 8.1 mm, thus contributing to its ergonomic design. The matte coating also provided a more comfortable grip and improved in-hand feel. The GT 10 Pro is offered in two color options: Mirage Silver and Cyber Black.

Like most gaming smartphone, Infinix GT 10 Pro’s design has some notable LED indicator located adjacent to the camera module, adding to the futuristic visual appeal. The back of the phone features a completely flat surface, with the camera island serving as the only prominent protrusion.

At the front, the android phone boasts a 6.67-inch OLED panel with a centered punch-hole for the 32MP selfie camera. The side bezels are slim, while the top and bottom bezels are slightly thicker. The top bezel houses the earpiece, which also functions as the second speaker in the stereo setup.

Additionally, the right side houses the power button and volume rocker, while the left accommodates the triple card tray, which can simultaneously hold two SIM cards and a microSD card. The bottom features a USB-C connector, a speaker grille, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Display

The Infinix GT 10 Pro boasts a display that immediately catches attention with its combination of a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. This pairing brings forth a visual experience that is both captivating and smooth, making it a notable feature of the device.

Furthermore, the Infinix phone has 87.0% screen-to-body ratio, which means that the device’s display occupies a large portion of the front surface area, with thin bezels around it, thus, providing a more immersive viewing experience.

When it comes to brightness, the GT 10 Pro’s display, while not reaching the dazzling heights of more premium devices like the Galaxy S23+, manages to hold its own. Using the phone outdoors under direct sunlight is a comfortable experience, and while it may not hit the advertised 900 nits peak brightness, it’s versatile enough to accommodate various lighting conditions.

Additionally, the display has 120 Hz refresh rate which brings fluidity to animations and UI interactions, providing an overall pleasing user experience. Users have the flexibility to choose from different refresh rate modes, including 60Hz, 90Hz, and the full 120Hz, with an intelligent Auto Switch mode that adapts to user interactions. Likewise, the in-display fingerprint sensor proves reliable, adding to the phone’s ease of use.

Camera

The Infinix GT 10 Pro features a triple camera setup on its rear, aimed at delivering versatile photography capabilities to its users. It has a  108MP primary camera, equipped with PDAF and a 6p lens featuring a wide f/1.75 aperture. Accompanying this high-resolution sensor are two additional 2MP sensors, one dedicated to macro photography and the other for depth sensing.

In well-lit conditions during the daytime, the GT 10 Pro’s 108MP primary camera manages to capture commendable shots with decent dynamic range and satisfactory color reproduction.

The auxiliary 2MP macro and depth sensors, unfortunately, do not exhibit the same level of prowess as the primary camera. These sensors contribute less compelling results, especially in the case of macro photography. However, the 108MP sensor remains the standout performer in this camera array.

Moving to the front of the device, the Infinix GT 10 Pro offers a 32MP selfie camera with dual flash support. This front camera surprises with its ability to capture pleasing selfies, delivering natural colors and adequate detailing. The portrait mode further enhances the subject-background separation and produces satisfying results.

When it comes to video recording, the main camera can record up to 4K at 30fps, offering decent video quality without optical image stabilization. While the camera setup’s primary focus lies on gaming, Infinix has ensured that its photography capabilities remain noteworthy. The flagship 108MP primary sensor, along with the supporting sensors, contribute to an overall well-rounded camera experience.

Hardware and Software

At the heart of the Infinix GT 10 Pro resides the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset. This is the same chipset we saw in models like the Tecno Camon 20 Premier 5G, the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G, and the Infinix Note 30 VIP.

The CPU architecture features a combination of four powerful Cortex-A78 cores and four energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores. The performance cores include one Super Core clocked at up to 3GHz and three performance cores running at up to 2.6GHz.

This setup ensures a balance between high-performance tasks and power-saving operations. Likewise, the chipset is coupled with the Mali-G77 MC9 GPU which contributes to the device’s graphics prowess.

The Infinix GT 10 Pro offers a substantial 8GB of RAM along with an innovative 8GB RAM expansion feature, creating a total RAM capacity of 16GB. This dual-channel RAM configuration aids in multitasking and smooth app performance. It also has 256GB internal storage, however, it is worth noting that expansion options are not available due to the absence of a microSD card slot.

Furthermore, the Infinix GT 10 Pro runs on a customized Android 13 operating system overlaid with Infinix’s proprietary XOS 13 skin. Although labeled as “Pure XOS,” this gaming-focused iteration exhibits some noticeable differences compared to the standard version found on other Infinix devices. The UI design is intuitive and user-friendly, making navigation and interaction effortless.

Additionally, this gaming phone is equipped with a sizable 5000mAh battery that offers a commendable battery backup. It is included with 45W fast charger allowing the device to charge from 0% to 100% in approximately 1 hour. This ensures quick recharging times, minimizing downtime and ensuring that the device is ready for extended periods of use.

For connectivity, this phone supports GPS, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for additional wireless connectivity options. It also support 5G networks, providing fast and reliable connectivity.
