The Nokia G310 is an entry-level smartphone that was announced on August 16, 2023. It has a large display, a simple design, a decent camera setup, large battery capacity, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and powered by a capable processor. Although, its an entry level phone, the Nokia G310 is a great choice for those looking for a reliable and feature-packed smartphone.

Design

The Nokia G310 appears to be a rebranded version of the Nokia G42, recently introduced to new markets in June. At first glance, it may resemble a standard plastic-clad smartphone. However, beneath its unassuming exterior lies a remarkable Quick Fix design, allowing users to replace parts on their own.

HMD has forged a partnership with iFixit, facilitating guides and access to these interchangeable components. This initiative aligns with the self-repair endeavors seen in industry giants like Apple and Samsung. Though the exact scope of repairability and part costs remain undisclosed at present.

Additionally, the Nokia G310 is made of plastic rear, aluminum frame and glass front. It has a slim and lightweight design that makes it easy to carry around. This android phone measures 165.1 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm dimension and weigh 195 g.

It sports a 6.56-inch HD IPS display with a smooth 90 Hz refresh rate, fortified by Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The display has thin bezels on the sides and a slightly thicker bezel on the top and bottom. Its structural integrity extends to dust and water resistance, ensuring durability.

The back panel has a rectangular camera module with curved edges located at the top left corner of the phone’s back. The camera module houses triple cameras and an LED flash. The back panel also features the Nokia logo at the center.

Display

The Nokia G310 features a spacious 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with slim bezels, allowing for an immersive viewing experience. The display has a water-drop notch at the top, which houses the front-facing camera, also known as the “selfie” camera.

Additionally, with a resolution of 720 x 1,612 pixels and a pixel density of 269 ppi, the display delivers clear and vibrant visuals. The 20:9 aspect ratio provides a tall and narrow screen, ideal for multimedia consumption and multitasking.

Camera

The main camera uses the Samsung JN1 sensor, with small 0.64µm pixels and a Tetrapixel color filter array that captures more light and produces sharper images. This results in 12.5 million 1.28µm pixels, and the camera has an f/2.4 aperture and a focal length of 25-27mm.

The 2MP macro camera lets you capture close-up shots of small objects, while the depth camera enhances portrait photos by creating a blurred background effect (bokeh) that makes the subject stand out.

For selfies, there’s a basic 8MP front camera with an f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus. This camera also supports AI beautification and HDR mode for better selfies

The Nokia G310 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ 5G chipset, which is a mid-range processor that offers good performance for everyday tasks such as web browsing, social media, and email.

This chipset is an octa-core Soc with two Kryo 460 Gold core clocked at 2.2GHz and another six Kryo 460 Silver core that clocks at 1.8GHz, thus offering impressive performance.
