The Xiaomi Mix Flip is the company’s latest entry into the foldable smartphone market, designed to rival top contenders like the Galaxy Z Flip6, the Oppo Find N3 Flip, and the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. With a cover display measuring 4.01-inches, the Xiaomi Mix Flip has one of the largest cover screen for a flip style foldable phone. It also boasts a dual 50 MP camera, a 4,780 mAh battery, a 6.86-inch foldable LTPO OLED display, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.

Design

At first glance, the Xiaomi Mix Flip bears a resemblance to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6,  both featuring a sleek and compact foldable form factor that prioritizes portability and style. The exterior features a 4.01-inch external screen, with two camera lenses protruding at the left-side corner of the screen, that allows users to take selfies with the main camera when the phone is closed, while the on main display screen, there is a punch-hole on the display that holds the single selfie camera.

When unfolded, the front is made of plastic to maintain flexibility, while the folded front and back are protected by glass, giving the device a sleek and premium look. It also has an aluminum frame that adds robustness to the overall structure, ensuring the device can withstand daily use. Additionally, the hinge is crafted from stainless steel, providing a strong and reliable mechanism that supports numerous folds without degrading over time.

In terms of dimensions, the Mix Flip measures 167.5 x 74 x 7.6 mm when unfolded, offering a slim profile that is comfortable to hold and use. When folded, it becomes a compact 74 x 74 x 16 mm, making it easy to carry in pockets or small bags. This is the same processor on Samsung Galaxy Flip 6, and  Galaxy S24. The octa-core chipset boasts a single high-performance core clocking around 3.0 GHz, three performance cores operating at around 2.8 GHz, and four efficiency cores running at around 2.0 GHz.

This Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 also incorporates a powerful AI engine for improved AI-driven features and performance.  The AI engine with the Hexagon NPU shows double the performance growth and a 40% increase in the performance per watt to run the AI models. Likewise, the chipset is backed up by Adreno 750 GPU for graphics handling.
