itel S24 is the successor to the itel S23. It is the best phone from itel in 2024 and offers a number of upgrades compared to the S23. You get an upgraded camera, a new stereo speaker, a more powerful processor, newer software, and faster charging capacity. itel S24 sports a 6.6-inch display, a 108MP camera, and a 5000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging capacity.

Design and Display

itel S24 has a similar design as its predecessor. You get the same flat back and flat sides with rounded corners. The round rear camera module was retained, though it is now bigger and has a gold-colored ring around it.

The front bezels have also been pruned down a bit and the waterdrop notch replaced with a more elegant punch-hole notch.

itel S24 is available in a dawn white model designed with a photochromic technology that enables it to change color when exposed to sunlight. The smartphone is also available in coastline blue and starry black, but these don’t have the color-changing effect.

On the right side, you have the volume rocker and the power button that also doubles as the fingerprint scanner. The SIM tray is on the left side of the Android phone. It has two Nano-SIM slots and a dedicated memory card slot.

The bottom side houses the USB Type C port, the microphone/mouthpiece, and the headphone jack. itel S24 features a dual speaker system, which is an improvement compared to the mono speaker on the itel S23 and itel S23 Plus. You get two speaker grills, one on the top side and the other on the bottom side.

The display seems the same as the one on the S23. However, the waterdrop was swapped out for a punch-hole notch. The 6.6-inch IPS display has a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels with a 90Hz refresh rate and 480 nits peak brightness.

Camera

Default shots are done at 12 megapixels, but if you fancy sharper photos, you can use the 108MP mode.

The camera can handle up to 1440p (2K) videos, but if you want to take advantage of the Super Steady Video Stabilization feature, you have to step down to at least 1080p (full HD).

An 8-megapixel camera is provided for taking selfies and making video calls. itel S23 supports Dual-view video which enables capturing video with the front and back cameras simultaneously.

Hardware and Software

The itel S24 gets a major chipset upgrade dropping Unisoc for a more prestigious and also more powerful MediaTek chipset. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G91 chipset.

Apps and games run smoothly most of the time. Using a MediaTek processor may make the device more appealing to consumers who consider Unisoc chipsets inferior.

itel S24 has an entry model with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM, but for the best-in-class performance, I recommend you go for the models with 8GB RAM paired with either a 128GB or 256GB ROM. The device runs Android 13 out of the box with itel OS 13 UI.

itel S24 supports 4G LTE and dual-band Wi-Fi for fast internet access. The 5000 mAh battery can provide one or two days of typical use though with heavy usage you may need to recharge the phone before the day runs out.
