WhatsApp is probably one of the most anticipated app for the Nokia Asha 501. Once you update your Nokia Asha 501, the WhatsApp launcher will appear automatically as the Software update is bundled with WhatsApp. For a fast download it is recommended you access the update over a Wi-Fi connection.

WhatsApp is supported on both the single and dual-SIM variants of the Nokia Asha 501. Once you successfully install WhatsApp on your phone, you can send and receive text messages to your contacts and chat with friends. You can also share photos as well as record and send voice and video messages to your contacts.

The beauty is that WhatsApp is integrated to the Nokia Asha 501’s software. You get notification when a contact sends you a message and you will also see your WhatsApp activities on FastLane.

Beyond WhatsApp

While WhatsApp support might be the most anticipated feature of the Nokia Asha 501, it is not all the new software update offers. Nokia has made it easy for you to take and share photos. You can now simply swipe up on the lock screen to activate the camera, then touch anywhere on the camera screen to capture an image. This will no doubt save you a couple of seconds in taking photos. You can add the image to the gallery with a single swipe.
