How to Get GOtv Open

GOtv utilises the latest Digital Terrestrial Broadcast Technology, DVB-T2. You need a Gotv decoder (a.k.a set top box) to receive the signal. Initial Gotv access cost is 6,900 Naira for GOtv decoder, outdoor antenna (a.k.a GOtenna), remote, and 1 month free Gotv plus package.

After using the initial one month free subscription to the GOtv plus package, you can now subscribe to GOtv Open by paying a one-off non-refundable administrative fee of 6,600 Naira. One-off means you pay the fee once. You will no longer pay for access to the channels on the GOtv Open package (see list above).

After subscribing to GOtv Open, you can still subscribe (upgrade) to GOtv pay packages like the GOtv standard package which costs N1,000 monthly or the GOtv plus packages, which costs N1,500 monthly. If you were subscribing to GOtv Open and upgrade to the pay packages, you will not pay the administrative fee again if you decide to go back to GOtv Open.
