The Mega Smartphone
Bigger displays are getting more popular. With 5.0-inch displays now standard for most 2013 flagship smartphones, bigger displays are bound to emerge. Samsung have always led the way with massive displays starting with the Galaxy Note line, which now offers a 5.3-inch in the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. So, it does not come entirely as a surprise that Samsung is offering a 6.3-incher.
Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 just like the name indicates features a 6.3-inch touch display with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Although the half HD resolution when matched with the massive screen size suggests a pixelated view, early reviews claim otherwise.
According to early reviews, the display on the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is brilliant and the pixels are barely noticeable. This is largely because as a large display you are more likely to view it from a longer distance compared to a smart phone with a small display. This makes the pixels unnoticeable most times.
On the rear side of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is an 8 megapixels camera with LED flash and full HD video recording. A 1.9 megapixels front-facing camera is also provided. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 is a mid-range smartphone, so do not expect all the trendy features on high-end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4. It offers a 1.7GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean).
Samsung Galaxy Mega is not just about Mega display, it also comes with a Mega battery. The 3,200 mAh Li-ion battery offers up to 420 hours standby time and 10 hours talktime.
