LinkedIn now has over 1 million members in Nigeria. This is based on an email, LinkedIn sent to its members in Nigeria last week congratulating them for being part of their first 1 million members in the country. The social networking site for professional networking also used the email to announce that it has hit a milestone of 200 million members.
LinkedIn sent out the emails last week. I received mine on February 8 and it reads “Paschal, congratulations! You were one of our first million members in Nigeria.” LinkedIn also shared the infographic below showing some key data about the social networking site.
LinkedIn is a social networking site for professionals. It is used mainly for professional networking, finding jobs and service providers, as well as gaining business leads. With over 1 million professionals on LinkedIn in Nigeria, LinkedIn is now fast becoming a Social networking site that any professional cannot afford not to be a member.
While LinkedIn has 1 million members in Nigeria, it now boasts of 74 million members in the United States, 18 million members in India, 11 million members in United Kingdom and Brazil, 7 million members in Canada, and 3 million members in Australia.
