Immersion Digital also announced today that it has been selected to join the Microsoft® BizSpark One Program.
Designed as a global program that offers software, support, and visibility to early stage startups, Microsoft chose Immersion Digital from over 30,000 BizSpark companies as one of 75 companies selected to engage in one-to-one relationships with Microsoft and a global community of advisors, investors and peers to help accelerate the company’s growth.
“We are honored and pleased that Microsoft shares our vision that it is not enough to mimic paper in an electronic form,”
said Nelson Saba, CEO of Immersion Digital.
“Moving forward, we need to exploit the full potential of interactive digital media. Glo is a digital publishing platform that offers an enhanced user experience of content through media. Slates combine mobility, rich media and intuitive multitouch interface creating an ideal platform for experiencing our enhanced media Bible.”
Microsoft recognized Immersion Digital for its focus on providing compelling content optimized for new touch-enabled devices and invited them into the program.
“The Emerging Business Team at Microsoft selects technology startups with the strongest potential to impact the market using Microsoft technologies to be members of BizSpark One,”
noted Matt Clark, senior director of the Emerging Business Team at Microsoft Corp.
“We see Immersion Digital as a company that has valuable creative and publishing technology with long-term potential and look forward to supporting their growth.”
Immersion Digital plans to take the Bible to new heights with exciting digital features designed to appeal and inspire an ever-expanding market. Bible publishers continue to sell twenty-five million print copies a year of the Bible even though 91 percent of households already own at least one.
“Our goal is to stimulate learning through unique and engaging interaction with immersive interactive media,”
said Nelson Saba.
“Our versatile digital publishing platform has potential for the extensive Bible study market and well beyond in education, entertainment and business publishing for today’s and tomorrow’s desktop and touchscreen mobile devices. We are honored to be among the select few BizSpark companies to be featured on Windows-based slate devices at CES.”
Immersion Digital’s multi-platform approach, from desktop to mobile devices, presents the Bible to the mainstream user in a whole new way with zoom technology and a touch interface, presenting a rich interactive database of historic as well as contemporary information, images, animations, video, maps, 360-degree virtual tours, and more.
The company believes that by seizing these new mobile touchscreen platforms and by providing a fresh interface and compelling timely content, they add an entirely new dimension to the growing Bible market.
