The new Huawei G7 Plus is like a refresh of the Ascend G7 from 2014, though it looks a lot more like the Huawei G8. The chic smartphone, expectedly, has more to offer users, including a sharper display, an improved camera with OIS, a twice powerful processor and a fingerprint scanner, amongst others.
Design and Display
Flaunting an elegant, premium design, Huawei G7 Plus has a body made mostly (90 percent) of aviation-grade aluminium, which is quite impressive when you consider its midrange status.
The phone retains the pleasantly svelte profile of its predecessor – it is in fact a bit slimmer at 7.5 millimetres. It tips the scale at 167 grams, compared to the Ascend G7’s 165 grams.
The G7 Plus crams in same 5.5-inch diagonal display, but the resolution takes a jump from HD (720p) to Full HD (1080p). The screen is protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass.
Camera and Storage
The same pair of cameras seen on the G7 – a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera – is also retained here, at least in terms of capacity. But the main camera on Huawei G7 Plus is much more improved with a sapphire lens, wider aperture, dual-tone LED flash and optical image stabilisation (OIS), a feature typically restricted to top-end devices. Ample 32 GB of onboard storage is available and this can further be expanded using a microSD card.
Power and Performance
The G7 Plus is designed to deliver two times more powerful performance with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor rocking away under the hood. With support provided by a generous 3 GB of RAM, the chip should enable enjoyable multitasking.
The phone will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box, overlaid with Huawei’s Emotion UI 3.1 skin. The Chinese company promises an upgrade to latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow next February.

Huawei G7 Plus features a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera for extra layer of security for your vital information stored on the phone. Juice will be supplied to the device by a decent 3000mAh battery that looks capable of supporting long hours of use.
