Display and Cameras
iPad Pro 10.5 features a bigger display. The new 10.5-inch LED display offers outstanding brightness with 600 nits of brightness that combines with the anti-reflective coating to offer improved outdoors viewing experience. Despite the bigger screen, pixel density remains flat at 264 ppi, thanks to the 2224 x 1668 pixels resolution. The display on the iPad Pro now refreshes at 120Hz, adding to the overall awesomeness of the screen.
iPad Pro 10.5 sports 12 megapixels camera on the back and an improved 7 megapixels FaceTime camera in the front. The rear camera features Optical Image Stabilisation, Autofocus, Auto-HDR, and 4K video recording. The camera is also getting a new f/1.8 aperture.
Hardware and Software
The new iPad Pro is offering new more powerful 6-core Apple A10X Fusion chip with an embedded M10 coprocessor. According to Apple, the CPU is 30% faster, while graphics is 40% faster. The more powerful processor also implies that the productivity tablet can better take advantage of the improved performance and multitasking features of the new iOS 11.
iOS 11 will not be available until later in the year, but is better poised to take advatage of the new features like the Dock that provides easy and fast access to frequently used apps. The iOS 11 will also come with deeper integration of the Apple Pencil for the iPad Pro. The new OS now enables two active apps on Slide Over and Split View.
Despite doing away with 3.5mm audio jack in the iPhone 7, the iPad Pro 10.5 retains the audio jack. As usual, you also get a Smart Connector for the smart keyboard and the Lightning connector for other accessories. The productivity tablet also features dual-microphones and four speaker audio system.
iPad Pro 10.5 will offer a model with Wi-Fi only and another model with both Wi-Fi and LTE. The iPad Pro 10.5 LTE supports one Nano SIM. Each model will be available with 64GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage.
Pricing & Availability
iPad Pro 10.5 launched June 5, 2017 starting at $649 (that’s about 240,000 Naira) for 64GB Wi-Fi model. The cellular model (LTE) starts at $779 (about 290,000 Naira) for the 64GB model.
iPad Pro 10.5 is not yet available in Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, but will go on sale in a couple of coutries next week. When available, iPad Pro 10.5 Price in Nigeria should range from 240,000 Naira to 480,000 Naira, depending on your location, built-in storage, and whether cellular or Wi-Fi only.
