This budget-friendly phone features a sleek design and a plastic chassis. It looks rather slim, even though it is not that in reality, measuring approximately 10 millimetres in thickness. The Zenfone Go has a decent weight of 135 grams.
ASUS Zenfone Go is fitted with a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a pixel density of 294 ppi for enjoyable viewing.
Camera and Storage
ASUS Zenfone Go packs an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with F2.0 aperture and autofocus to allow you capture stunning images. The selfie snapper is a budget-class 2-megapixel sensor, which may not deliver the best of selfies.
You get onboard storage of 8 GB – decent enough for basic users. If you are the content-hungry type, you will be able to add up to 64 GB extra storage space using a microSD card. You may also take advantage of the 100GB complimentary Google Drive storage which ASUS is offering buyers for the first two years of purchase.
Power and Performance
A quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.3 GHz does the heavy lifting on ASUS Zenfone Go, with support provided to it by decent RAM of 2GB capacity. The phone should enable enjoyable multitasking and gaming experience.
It boots its maker’s ZenUI, which is based on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system, for rich user experience on the platform. ASUS says the user interface is ‘simpler’ and ‘smarter’ while also offering new exciting features such as ZenUI Instant Updates, Dr. Safety and ZenMotion for improved security and privacy.
Other Features
ASUS Zenfone Go packs a decent 2070mAh battery that should, at least, easily get you through a work day without plugging to a socket. It supports dual-SIM, dual standby functionality to enable you use two SIM cards side by side.
Connectivity features include Bluetooth, 3G and Wi-Fi. Sadly, you will not be getting 4G LTE support on this one.
Pricing and availability
ASUS Zenfone Go is not available in Nigeria. ASUS does not currently offer phones in Nigeria so the availability of this phone in the country is in doubt. If and when available, ASUS Zenfone 2 Price in Nigeria is expected at around N25,000 to N35,000.
