Doogee S90 Specs and Price

Doogee is stepping up their S-series rugged smartphone game with a new modular Doogee S90 release. The new smartphone comes with an IP68 water and dust certification as well as a MIL-STD, -810G standard. Built to be able to cope with strain, fall and conditions your average smartphones are unlikely to survive in. The smartphone also features a module that adds an extra battery, night camera, walkie talkie and others. Not exactly for everyone, the smartphone delivers some impressive specs and additional advantage over some of its competitors.

Design and Display

There is no denying the heftiness of the Doogee S90 which has a blend of plastic, metal and rubber. The smartphone comes with a screen that is withdrawn so that it doesn’t touch the surface when laid face down protected by rubber surrounding it. At the right side is a dedicated camera button, volume rocker and power button. You’ve got an omission of the audio Jack on the smartphone, however, the charging port is covered by a clasp same for the SIM port at the left side too.

On the display end, the smartphone has a large 6.18-inch size with a cut out notch at the top that looks quite unnecessary. Being an LCD screen, it does get bright enough but does not have those deep black the OLED counterpart is known for. There is the resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixels on the display that gives a bit more detail.

Battery and Camera

Rugged smartphones usually comes with a large battery capacity and in this case there is modular addition. Normally, the Doogee S90 has a 5, 050mAh battery capacity on it which is very much generous in terms of power juice. In addition, there is a power module that  adds 5000mAh to the capacity of the smartphone and an extra weight of 138g. For charging, the smartphone features a USB Type-C charging port.

Camera power is enough for this smartphone with a dual camera on the rear side and a single front camera in play. There is a 16MP camera at the rear and an 8MP secondary sensor both tagged as AI camera with two flash light present too. In the notch, there is an 8MP camera tending to selfies smartphone with AI selfie beauty tag. The night camera module has a 2MP camera which boosts brightness 12 times but also adds noise.

Hardware and Software

Behind the all rugged and bulky look is a considerably capable midrange chipset powering all the features of the smartphone and doing a good job of that. The MediaTek Helio P60  processor is made with 12nm FinFET process and has a clock speed of 2.0GHz. More so, you’re provided with 6GB RAM, a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU and a 128GB storage space. You could add 128GB storage space to the smartphone with a memory card but that would mean sacrificing a SIM card. The OS on the smartphone is Android 8.1 Oreo which is not up to date but is still of good use.

The smartphone is sold for about 164, 000 Naira with all the modules present and around 135, 000 Naira without it depending on the deal.
