Build and Display
In terms of design, the HP Pavilion 11 x360 is a lot like the higher-end HP Spectre x360, featuring a geared lid hinge that allows the user to turn the screen around a full 360 degrees.
The design is fanless, made possible by the choice of processor used for laptop, which sports a plastic build. Compared to the 2014 model, the refreshed Pavilion 11 x360 is unnoticeable thicker and heavier at 22.5 millimetres and 1.45 kilograms respectively.
The laptop features an 11.6-inch screen with an HD resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. HP Pavilion 11 x360 will be available in different colours such as green, silver, red and purple.
Performance
HP Pavilion 11 x360 is driven by a quad-core Intel Pentium N3700 chip with the code name Braswell. By adding extra money, you can have the processor upgraded to the more efficient Intel Core M chip, the same one that powers the highly-rated 12-inch Apple MacBook.
These processors are known for their power use efficiency, which explains the notebook’s fanless design. They also offer better performance than the Intel Atom chip used on the Microsoft Surface 3. The Intel Pentium N3700 or Core M processor is backed up by 4GB of RAM, upgradeable up to 8GB.
Other Features
Perhaps, the most interesting thing about the HP Pavilion 11 x360 is the fact that it can be switched into four different modes just like the Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, facilitated by the same quality hinge found on the more-expensive Spectre x360.
The $500-priced Core M model comes with 128GB SSD. Following Beats Audio acquisition by rival tech company Apple, HP has decided to use Bang and Olufsen (B&O) Play software for quality audio on its Pavilion 11 x360.
Pricing and availability
