HP Omen Pro

Design and Screen

Just like the original HP Omen, this Pro version flaunts a nice-looking unibody design. It sports an aluminium casing and weighs scarcely over two kilograms. While the 19.9mm-thick machine might not be the lightest of laptops, it is lighter than most mobile workstations that we have seen.

HP Omen Pro packs a 15.6-inch touch display with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Hardware

Considering how the HP Omen Pro is configured, you can easily tell that this one is intended for professionals who require a workstation that can crunch graphics impressively.

Equipped with potent fourth-generation Intel Core i7 processors, the Omen Pro comes with professional-class NVIDIA Quadro K1100M dedicated graphics card with 2GB memory, instead of the NVIDIA GeForce graphics card on its cousin. The powerful chip is supported by standard RAM of 16GB.

Additional Information

HP Omen Pro runs on the Windows 7 Professional operating system out of the box, which is understandable given the fact that the machine is aimed at professional users. But the operating system choice is somewhat strange in the sense that touchscreen Windows-based gadgets usually come with Windows 8.1. Of course, you can always upgrade to Windows 8.1 or even Windows 10.

The mobile workstation features an HP Z Turbo PCIe solid-state drive of either 256GB or 512GB storage capacity. It packs an impressive four USB 3.0 ports for connecting your external devices. HP Omen Pro also has an HDMI port and a mini DisplayPort to enable users to connect easily to external, larger monitors.

Already available for purchase, the Omen Pro goes for a starting suggested price of $2,199.

Pricing and availability

HP Omen Pro Workstations are not yet available in Nigeria. If and when available in Nigeria, you will be able to purchase this powerful notebook at leading online stores in the country. HP Omen Pro price in Nigeria is expected to start at around N440,000, depending on your location and the configuration of the laptop.
